The building is the vision and creation of prestigious architectural firm ThomsonAdsett, who follow social, economic and environmental principles to deliver award-winning architecture across a broad range of disciplines including retirement.

Using this extensive knowledge and experience, Amarco Apartments has been developed to only the highest standards, using carefully chosen materials and implementing forward-thinking environmental features. The building utilises solar panels and features an innovative heating, cooling and ventilation system to ensure complete comfort for all residents. There are energy efficient lifts and water efficient fittings including showers, toilets and washbasins. Organic and durable materials including Australian hardwood timber and brick have been used throughout the construction.

A strong commitment to the local ecology inspired new plantings to support the indigenous trees, grasses and fauna. The innovative approach used in the construction of the building is also evident in day-to-day operations, with a comprehensive waste management and recycling system in place. Designed to ensure maximum use of natural resources, rain water is harvested in large tanks for reuse in watering the gardens, while the building captures maximum amounts of natural light, creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere.
